The Unruh Fire Trike.Interested?Call 1-888-772-8400
Unruh employee Matt Norton took the lead in the development of the Unruh Fire trike. It was built using a 1973 VW Bug as the base of construction. To start out, the 1600cc motor and transmission was pulled out of the bug and rebuilt completely by Joes VW in Wichita Kansas. As part of the deconstruction process the bug also had to be chopped in half for use of the rear half only. Matt used rigid steel square tubing to build the new trike frame and integrated it with a Paugho 12" over, wide springer front end. The drum brakes were replaced with new discs all around as well as chevy 5 stud conversion kit for the new wheels. To extend the chromed look down to the rubber, a set of 15" Cragar SS rims were mounted for the rear, and a 21", 80 spoke wheel for the front. As for some of the other details on the trike they include, complete custom built diamond plate trim and battery battery box, air shocks, 6 gal. Fat Bob tank, and a mustang solo chopper seat/back rest. The custom paint was done by Chad Ward at Hard line graphics in Wichita Kansas, and the upholstery was done at Mikes custom upholstery in Wichita Kansas.
